Jacques Rouvier
Piano
Jacques Rouvier’s complete recordings of Maurice Ravel’s works and the recording of all Claude Debussy’s piano works as well as the sonatas for piano and violin by Ravel and Debussy (recorded with Jean Jacques Kantorow) were awarded the Grand Prix du Disque.
Jacques Rouvier has performed as a soloist and teacher at all the major piano festivals and is recognised not just for his virtuoso performances but also the impact he has had in helping shape the piano careers of younger pianists. Two of his students were Helene Grimaud and David Fray, with whom he will share the stage at this year’s Mosaic festival.
